We as a developing society have come a long way in that we have electricity and fuel to power our homes, industries and vehicles. Most of these depend on fossil fuels to produce this energy.
They are found in the ground and have to be gathered and processed to provide this energy. They are coal, natural gas and oil.We have come to rely on these sources too much for our own good and that is why
we must research and perfect alternatives such as renewable energy.
The problem is that our dependence continues to grow.As more people are on the Earth than ever before
we are using more every day.People are living longer due to the advances in health care and we are certainly
dependent on our electronic devices too.
While these are things we can be happy about, the fact we are depleting most of the world's natural resources
available isn't something to be so happy about. This type of energy source is not something we can replace.
When it is gone it's gone is the reality.
It won't all be gone in my lifetime but it will pose a problem for future generations. While efforts to conserve natural resources can help, to really make a difference we are going to have to look at alternatives.
